Principal Objectives
The main goals decided upon by the association, in its Articles, are:
- By implementation of this within its member organizations,
- By diffusion of effective science Science La science est désormais l’affaire de tous. Découvrez la science d’une manière ludique et active. Nous vous proposons d’en découvrir plus sur nos expéditions à la voile, découverte du plancton. education methods with other stakeholders in the area,
- By implementing research with a view to discovering and developing scientific, methodological and technological solutions to problems encountered by humans or resulting from humans,
- By transfer of these solutions towards their concrete implementation by economic actors who are recognized as ethical and responsible,
and
Inform and sensitize public opinion in all countries on the importance of Science Education and Science Research for developing countries and for industrialised countries with an objective of Sustainable Development,
Train stakeholders and decision makers for them to be competent in the above-mentioned areas,
Obtain the financial means necessary to sustain its operations and projects, and the operations of its various member organizations.
These ambitions are set out in the Principle Methods of implementation which are described below.
Principal Methods

Centres of the association implement all of these principles, but in an adapted manner. Each of these activities is aimed at audiences which are different, or in different situations; a child 12 years of age and an adolescent of 16 will not have the same expectations.
The association implements its Principal Objectives first by passing through application of its core values, then by clearly defined organization. These core values are described here:
oO° VALUES °Oo
Scientific Values
Participatory Research (where the NGO is a pioneer with its pilot experience, creating for the first time in the world scientific vacation camps Vacation Camps Vacation camps aren’t the same as they used to be, meaning enormous, impersonal and lacking a specific focus. Thankfully things have changed and the children of 20 years ago who went to the first summer camps, having grown up, are now on the other side of these camps, offering high quality courses, out in the fresh air and packed with mentally stimulating activities. Multidisciplinarity
Bringing together interdisciplinary knowledge
Persistently pursuing one’s work
Coherence among paths explored
Diversity of professional origins
Return to roots
_(know to respect and not forget ancient references – to not reinvent the wheel by rediscovering a phenomenon which is indeed forgotten but already known under another name)
Return to science!!!
(references from major ancient issues such as famine, health, the meaning of life, energy, housing…)
Progressive projects
(and which respond to real fundamental needs)
Ask excellent questions
(to not retort “no” to a strange proposition but to respond “OK, but let’s do some serious experiments to know whether or not and then submit them for peer verification”)
Independent thinking
(ability that a scientist must have to not allow themselves to be too quickly influenced by theoretical, technical or methodological fashions)
Serious
Entering into the scientific community
Male/female parity in the sciences
Constructive disagreements
Complementarity of profiles
“TransformAction” of research and its being put in the service of society
(Technology Transfer, (ethical) Industrialization of proceeds of discovery so they do not disappear into oblivion)
and finally…
Interest for things other than just the sciences…
Educational Values
Pushing one’s limits
Useful Leisure and free Time
Welcoming of handicapped persons
Quality of life and Health
Need not expect value to necessarily take years
Merit is open to all
Male/female parity in sports and in cultural or hands-on activities…
and finally…
Interest for things other than sports or hands-on activities
Public Education, Education for All
Daily Values
Principles and Common Sense
Knowledge, know-how and learning to be
(i.e., without forgetting to “learn to be” as is often the case)
New pedagogy (contributions from Psychology)
Pedagogy of Relearning
Action taken for the benefit of future generations
How to live in a group
Peace Education
Cooperation
(concrete example: Science Vacation Camps

Valuing each thing and Not wasting
(Relearning that every nail has great value because nowadays we have returned to having to save every little thing and each tool as a rare and precious thing, like a trapper living in autarky on an island [1])
Taking care of oneself
(For example brushing teeth after each meal at the Science Vacation Camps

Diversity of languages
(We do not speak of a single international language, but in practice we elevate all the languages present – The main working language internal to the organization is French, not English, but internal documents are translated as much as possible)
Diversity of cultures and origins
(social, ethnic, geographic…)
Balanced diet
(daily routine and composition of each meal)
Ethical eating
(social impact of foods consumed)
Eco-friendly eating
(environmental impact of foods consumed)
Be “capable of…”
Diversity
Realism
Exchanges
Action
Sense of service
And finally…
Apply to oneself what one applies to others… or to not apply it
oO° ORGANISATION °Oo
The general operations of all Science Vacation Camps Centres are addressed in a set of methodical and timely documents comprised of hundreds of procedures, tutorials, worksheets and follow-up, countdowns and check-lists. These operations rules are concretely set out in the Educational Charter for each logistical, technical, financial or material implementation detail.
These documents are accessible online on this rubric, with access reserved for our active members and partners. If you satisfy the conditions to have access to these pages (Partner, Government Service …) you can obtain access: all you have to do is to speak directly with your usual contact with the association who will ask the relevant service to give you access to these pages.
oO° IMPLEMENTATION °Oo
The association applies these values as a part of specific activities, in a manner suitable for and specific to the Objectif Sciences International network .
Science Vacation Camps
The Scientific Vacation Camps welcome children and adolescents from 7 [2] to 18 [3] years of age who want to satisfy their curiosity and their passion for science through experience.
The Objectif Sciences International association has taken the role of organizing Scientific Vacation Internships in the form of Projects which allow Research Training VIA research.
They emphasize scientific and cultural values, and those related to daily life.
Implementation of the Scientific Vacation Internships with “Objectif Sciences International” is described here.
We also have …
Science Classes

Scientist Residencies
The Scientist Residencies welcome researchers, engineers, technicians, teachers and students in master’s internships or doing their doctoral thesis.
The Objectif Sciences International association has taken the role of organizing Scientist Residencies in the form of a selective process, such that the Research carried out should enrich one of the Research Programs conducted at the Science Vacation Camp Centre which welcomes the Scientist in Residence.
They emphasize values related to Daily Life and Scientific Research, and most particularly in terms of tenacity and the consistency of avenues explored.
Work of Personnel of the association
Generally speaking, all personnel are called upon to support all of these values on a daily basis, whether they are cooks, managers, technicians or science educators.
oO° Pedagogical Projects °Oo
The Principal Objectives of the association (the goals indicated in its Articles) and the Principal Methods (which are described above on this page) are presented in the Objectives and the Methods of implementation.
For pedagogical and logistical questions, each activity is the basis of a Pedagogical Project, including for example the objectives to be achieved, the planning, the evaluation criteria for the objectives being attained or not, the details of some sessions with another activity, etc.
These Pedagogical Projects under each activity rubric are published on this website and are permanently accessible to partners of the association through the “Centre de Ressources” (Resources Centre) part of the website. These Pedagogical Projects are published each year after the principal annual updating has taken place, and are at the disposal of official observers who work with the association (Ministry of Youth & Sports, quality monitoring organizations, etc.).
oO° White Papers °Oo
The Principal Objectives of the association (the goals indicated in its Articles) and the Principal Methods (which are described on this page) are presented in the Objectives and in the Methods of implementation (technical specifications).
For scientific and technical matters, each Research and Education Program is the subject of a White Paper (which results in adding a resource directory to the technical specifications) which lists the details of the objectives of research conducted, the material and intellectual means necessary, the distribution of tasks from one activity to another to effectively conduct the overall research of the Program, useful and recurring contacts in the scientific community, the bibliography, etc.
These White Papers are published under each sub-rubric of the “Presentation” rubric of the websites devoted to the Research Program Research Program Collaborate with scientific organizations. Actively take part in participative science research programs. All this is possible with our plankton discovery sailing expedition. and are accessible to partners of the association. They are updated on a daily basis, but are subject to a major evaluation once a year and an update 6 months later. They thus serve as a technical reference for the smooth running of activities. Because the documents are multimedia and have many internet links, they will remain in electronic form (intranet).
Notes:
[1] Planet Earth can be considered as a “finite” island in the middle of a spatial ocean, and where we must manage each thing with respect and precaution, not wasting.
[2] Children who are 6 and a half years of age and very motivated are welcome.
[3] Youth aged 19 or 20 who want to participate in a 16-18 year old camp can register if the subject particularly interests them.
