If no replacement solution is suitable, Objectif Sciences International will completely and immediately reimburse any fees you paid.

Objectif Sciences International reserves the right to refuse any participant if the required terms and conditions for the trip have not been fully respected.

To learn about the terms and conditions of the cancellation insurance, please read the following paragraph.

Cancellation Insurance

Objectif Sciences International and its members maintain civil liability and repatriation insurance [1], which covers all their activities. However, this insurance does not cover you if you cancel the trip.

That is why we offer and suggest that you buy an additional cancellation insurance policy.

If you cancel your trip and have this cancellation insurance, we will reimburse the cost of the trip minus a deductible equal to 10 percent of the trip’s cost plus the cost of the insurance, and all costs incurred by a participant during a trip that has already begun. This insurance is valid only in case of non-reception of your visa, sickness, accident, or death of the insured or one of their close family members (brother or sister, father, mother, stepparent, or grandparent).

For this type of situation, the cancellation request must be sent by registered mail and include medical or death certificates. Objectif Sciences International reserves the right to refuse any cancellation because of a lack of supporting documents or reasonable justifications.

Photos and Media Coverage

Participants may be photographed during the trip. Participants and their parents (for young participants) accept that photos taken by Organization members may be used on Objectif Sciences International’s websites and to illustrate our future brochures. They also accept that TV, radio, or newspaper reports may occur during the trips and that participants may be interviewed.

Thus participants and childrens’ parents hereby waive their right to any form of redress, compensation, or renumeration for any photographs or media reports.

Data and Information

Participants and their families have the right to access and rectify personal information that concerns them and that Centers for Scientific Living may need to process for their activities.

Medical Fees

Medical and ambulance fees spent in case of illness or an accident may sometimes be advanced by the Organization responsible for the trip. By registering a child for a trip, parents hereby agree to reimburse the total sum advanced. This also applies to any adult participant on a Science Science La science est désormais l’affaire de tous. Découvrez la science d’une manière ludique et active. Nous vous proposons d’en découvrir plus sur nos expéditions à la voile, découverte du plancton. Solidarity-based vacation.

Parents or guardians hereby accept that in case of emergency or necessity, a decision to pursue appropriate measures such as hospitalization or surgery may be taken by the Organization.
Objectif Sciences International will of course keep any necessary documents so you can request total or partial reimbursement from a government agency or your insurance company.

Group Rules

Group life requires some rules. For the trip to run smoothly, participants must respect the group rules that the pedagogical team will outline at the beginning of the trip.
Each participant must behave in accordance with the basic rules of conduct and respect the instructions of the Center for Scientific Living management.
Each participant must behave appropriately with supervisory and service staff and with other participants.
Additionally, every participant is kindly encouraged to wear appropriate clothing.
If the trip director realizes that they can no longer be responsible for a participant whose behavior intimidates others or has a negative effect on the trip, parents will take all necessary measures to ensure the participant’s return without delay and at their own expense. The family may not request reimbursement and will be responsible for any costs related to sending away the participant.

Exceptions

The Organization uses whatever means are necessary to ensure the trips run smoothly. However, the Organization cannot be held liable for events beyond our control, fortuitous events (e.g., bad weather), or events unknown to its employees or active members.

The Organization cannot be held liable for violence inflicted by others, thefts, or participants’ forgotten or lost objects, even if the incident was caused by another participant. Participants are explicitly advised not to bring any objects of value with them. If you bring objects of value so you can better benefit from the camp (e.g., learn how to fly your drone, use your telescope, etc.), we will make sure your belongings are protected while they are not being used. However, the same exceptions outlined above are still applicable.

Objectif Sciences International cannot be held liable for schedule changes made by transportation companies or train stations, or any additional fees they may charge (including, but not limited to, non-modifiable train tickets or non-refundable tickets to reach the group’s trip departure point).

Finally, Objectif Sciences International will be in no way liable and will not offer a refund if a participant cannot cross a border during a trip because of administrative records.

Of course, we do everything possible to avoid these very rare inconveniences. We do so by warning you of any known changes as soon as we can.

Discharge of Liability

Once the trip is over, the Center for Scientific Living responsible for the camp will make sure all participants return to their legal guardians. Thus the Center disclaims all liability related to incidents that may occur afterwards.

Evaluation

After the camp, participants and their families will be sent a form to make a qualitative evaluation of the trip.

Claims

All claims and supporting documents must imperatively be sent by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt within fifteen days after the end of the trip. After this period, no claims will be accepted.

Recourse

In the event of a dispute or the need to interpret these terms and conditions of trip eligibility by a third party, the only courts of competent jurisdiction without appeal are those that govern the participating Centers for Scientific Living (Tribunal de Grande Instance de Bordeaux in France, Cour du Québec de Shawinigan in Quebec, Tribunal de Grande Instance de Papeete in Tahiti, Tokyo District Court in Japan, Tribunal de Grande Instance de Kinshasa in the DRC).

This court and any other judicial body may be seized, pursuant to these provisions, only if both parties have gone through conflict mediation with a mediator chosen and agreed upon by both parties and that this mediation failed.

This Conflict mediator will only be of competent jurisdiction if the two parties previously tried to resolve the dispute amicably.
