High quality vacations?

Dream Destinations: Kayak down and camp alongside the clear, wild waters of the Drôme; admire the beauty of Val d’Anniviers (Switzerland); travel the mountains of Kyrgyzstan (Central Asia) on horseback; bathe in the hot springs of Landmannalaugar in Iceland;... The common thread in our destinations: all are scientific adventure sites that are Exceptional! Unique educational content: Combining leisure and scientific inquiry is an amazing recipe concocted by the NGO Objectif Sciences International. Our model offers “training on how to conduct research by undertaking research” through enjoyable holidays. Participants are involved in a real scientific research project and lead their own learning. This proven method permits learning with minimal effort, in a fun way. The project kicks off with sporting activities such as caving, rock climbing or horse riding. In addition, the youngest participants can also avail of slots reserved for sports, do-it-yourself activities, singing... Our offering is unique since it combines research and holidays, thus making Objectif Sciences International a pioneer in participative research applied to community projects. Indeed, every research project is real and in the cause of science, aimed at uncovering a solution for sustainable development and has been adapted to suit the age levels of participants. Home > Introduction > High quality vacations?

What makes the scientific holiday excursions organised by Objectif Sciences International, luxury getaways, yet accessible to all? How is it that the young members of the association chance upon real flint dating from the Neolithic era and are able to subsequently publish high level articles? How is it that the teens who participate in our scientific holiday excursions give names of their choice to craters on Mars that are officially accepted worldwide? (More details on this can be found here)

Many who go through our website in detail tell us that the excursions we offer have little that is comparable elsewhere.

All of our excursions are, of course, approved by national authorities. But the quality on offer is primarily due to the fact that we have put in place an approach of teaching how to conduct research by carrying out research. Here is a quick overview of the different factors that go into making our tours exceptional…

- The model chosen for the scientific holiday excursion is described here,

- On another page of the website you can find the contents of the scientific research projects that we undertake, on the very topic of the best educational approach to be implemented,

- Here you can read what we ask of our scientific educators.

- To wrap up, you can also take a look at examples of reports of trips undertaken over the previous years (the 2007 report is here). We have been conducting these tours since 1992 and you can find the reviews for every year in the event logs updated daily by the participants. Get in touch with us to view the event logs of excursions that you find interesting!

And there is more.

A great deal of additional information is available on the website; you can, for example, go through the various articles under the section “The Concept”.

You can also get in touch with us to learn more about our activities and their content.

If you wish to support the association you can distribute our posters in your neighborhood!
